1. How to Make a Triangle in Photoshop: The Triangle Tool (U)
Step 1
In this section, we are going to make a triangle using the tool designed for it. Go to Window > Tools to reveal the Tools panel on your left hand side. Then, choose the Shape Tool (U), click and hold on the current shape tool to reveal all the shape tools, and select the Triangle Tool (U) from there.
Step 2
Now Shift-click anywhere inside the canvas and click and drag to draw a triangle.
Or click anywhere inside the canvas to bring up the Create Triangle dialog box and enter the settings you require. Here you can also specify a Corner Radius, which is how to make a rounded triangle in Photoshop.
2. How to Draw a Triangle in Photoshop: Polygon Tool (U)
Step 1
In this section, we are going to make a triangle in Photoshop using an alternative tool. Choose the Shape Tool (U), click and hold on the current shape tool to reveal all the shape tools, and select the Polygon Tool (U) from there.
Step 2
Now click anywhere inside the canvas to bring up the Create Polygon dialog box and enter the settings you require. It’s important that you set the Number of Sides to 3 and Star Ratio to 100%.
3. How to Draw a Triangle in Photoshop (Example)
Step 1
You can use one of these two methods to create a triangle that you’ll use not only as a layer mask, but also to create a stylish neon effect like in this Neon Flyer. To do so, once you have created a triangle, press A on your keyboard, and Control-click anywhere inside the triangle to select the shape’s path. Then, Control-click and drag each of the three points to position them and transform the triangle as shown below:

Now choose the Shape Tool (U), and set the Fill Solid Color to No Color, Stroke Solid Color to #000000, and Stroke Width to 3 px.
